Today’s lesson Nik is one of basic mathematics, and we will include use of the term average just for you.
This from your post last night, whilst clearly under the influence of something that was clouding your judgement…
Posted by Nik on 22/6/2023, 8:40 pm, in reply to "Re: Match day ticket pricing........" Explain to me how else they buy a house then? The average house costs 8.3 times the average salary. It really isn't a difficult concept to grasp.
Let’s work through a simple example to highlight the stupidity of this statement using real numbers.
A couple of nurses (male/female) husband and wife work together at Stepping Hill hospital.
According to nurses.co.uk - What Is The Average Salary For A Nurse? The Royal College of Nursing estimated in 2021 that the average annual salary of an NHS nurse is £33,384. The pay rise introduced across the NHS in 2023 means that average is probably now closer to £37,000.
Now the tricky bit for you Nik. A bit of simple arithmetic.
2 x £37,000 = £74,000 multiply this by your ridiculous figure of 8.3 (average) = £614,200
I don’t know of many small semi-detached houses that are available in Hazel Grove for just £614,200 do you? And remember that’s just the average 😉
Were you the one who dreamt up yesterday morning ticket prices
