Again though, you're applying your personal circumstances to a general statement about pensioners. Whether you are one of those described, it's factual that as an age group, a greater proportion of pensioners are significantly better off than other age groups.
Those at the lower end of the age spectrum won't ever be able to be in a position that current pensioners are when they're that age, as it's getting more and more difficult to get on the property ladder, as average salaries haven't risen at the same rate as house prices. As I said to TLOBS below, it now costs over 8 times the average annual salary to buy a house when in years gone by it cost 2-3 times.
That's the point Fuzzbox is making, not that you specifically are well off.
