Spain counts care home deaths too so you're wrong on that and/but, there are nowhere near as many care homes in Spain as there are in the U.K.
They are in the process of building one in the town I now call home. It will the 1st one and only one for miles for the foreseeable future.
Also, there are prosecutions afoot for care home workers who fled for their lives when Covid appeared on their doorsteps. There has been a care home in Madrid where they found 19 elderly people, abandoned and dead in their beds. I've read of a similar story in Murcia province. Doubtless there'll be others too.
They just don't have the care home culture here yet.
