By all the widely-used figures both in the UK and elsewhere, we’re the highest. Bit pedantic to focus solely on that when it’s reported pretty much all over - change it to “one of the highest” if you like, the point still stands.
Responses have been different for nations where they’ve controlled it strictly enough early on that it’s not seen high numbers of deaths. I meant “everyone else” as in similarly affected countries to us, not the entire world. What are some of the examples of “wildly different” approaches for nations similar to ours, in terms of number of deaths/the amount of time spent in lockdown?
Again, ‘why do we need to be the odd ones out, going against the grain and opting for a different message to others who’ve been similarly affected’ was more the point in question.
