A better solution might have been to state that the grandchildren will all be styled HH Prince(ss) NN, Count(ess) of Monpezat , removing the territorial designation of Denmark from their primary styling at home and abroad while also assigning the surname af Monpezat .
They were all born with the princely title and the eldest is now 23 or something? And now there are all of the legitimate male-line descendants of Christian IX born in lines permitted to settle abroad who have and will transmit the Danish princely title in perpetuity…
