The Court has issued an update saying that Her Majesty, the Crown Prince Couple and Prince Christian will attend the Council of State meeting on January 14. Once Her Majesty has signed the Instrument of Abdication, the Crown Prince Couple will leave the meeting as King and Queen and Prince Christian as Crown Prince.

May I be so presumptious to say that there will be some type of an instrument of abdication ceremony by Queen Margrethe transferring her authority to the new king, Frederik. This would be followed by the usual pronouncement of the new monarch by the the prime minister and a speech by the said monarch and expressing his motto to define his reign, e.g.,Queen Margrethe's motto:
"Guds hjælp, folkets
kærlighed, Danmarks styrke."

According to the one BBC News article I read on their website today (1/1), the new King will be proclaimed in January at Amalienborg palace. But my question to you or any Danish expert - is this "proclamation" an actual ceremony of some kind in the halls of the palace, with actual government and any palace officials present, or is is simply an herald of some kind proclaiming the new king as "Frederik X"?
For the time being, we only know what's written in this statement from the Prime Minister's office:
