I like Sorgenfri. It has a beautiful name for a home and looks like an attractive castle and is relatively small. With it's gardens and park around it, it would make a good home for a royal and possibly easier to guard than the mansions of Amalienborg Palace.
It would be nice if it was returned into Royal use but i also understand the Danish monarchy cannot expect the taxpayers to provide that many residences for them. The Danish crown already has quite a few residences in use compared to other continental European monarchies. Previous Message

Near Copenhagen there is also Sorgenfri palace [...] Maybe that become a residence for either Margrethe II or Frederik X.
Very unlikely, if you ask me. Sorgenfri is in need of renovation and the royal family has shown no interest in the palace since the death of Princess Caroline-Mathilde in 1995. Each time the throne changes hands, negotiations are made about which state-owned palaces the new monarch will have at his/her disposal, and I wouldn't be surprised if the new king relinquishes the right to use Sorgenfri. That being said, I do hope that Sorgenfri will be Crown Prince Christian's future residence. He is indeed expected to take over Queen Margrethe's mansion at Amalienborg, but she may live another 10-15 years, and the mansion will likely need renovation before he can move in. If the renovation of Sorgenfri is initiated earlier, it could become his first home.
