King Charles and the Prince of Wales certainly seem to have loftier standards of staff comportment and lower tolerance for embarrassing gaffes, but it seems harsh to suggest that either of them is a “ruthless defenestrator.”
Both men and their wives are almost constantly working, and they need staff whom they can absolutely trust to further (and never hinder) their mission. Despite their likely personal fondness for Lady Susan, I suspect there was nothing personal about abruptly distancing themselves from an errant employee.
Nothing personal? An errant employee? After over 60 years of dedicated service and close enough to the royal family to be chosen as one of William's godparents, this is how she is regarded and tossed on the scrap heap? In my opinion, the entire episode is shameful and certainly would not have been handled in this way had the Queen and the Duke still been around.
