interesting notes there, but as regards the in vote in '75 I can say that we thought we were voting for a trade group, it has only really emerged mainstream since the early 90's that we were lied to and it was always a political Europe was the agenda. Thus, the split in votes, when we voted to remain in, it was to be part of a big trading block but over the years our rights to rule ourselves have been eroded, add to this the open borders, throw in criminals coming here to commit more crime and for us to be told that because of eu laws etc we cannot remove them, then the lie becomes known and the older out vote falls into place. The young, well they think they are SOOOOOH right, but they haven't a clue, in years to come providing the politicos' are not allowed to cock up the exit they will be thanking us (don't hold your breath though as they're so ill mannered as well as ill informed)and the one thing the young (18-24 years old) did for us (exiteers) is not to vote, only 40 percent of those elegible voted! If the number were twice that things may have been different. They all believed project fear from the Cameroon and friends, not why would our Friends in the eu threaten us if we left? It's been unbelievable but a wrong has been righted, those wanting to stay even went so far as to threaten pensioners financially, who wants to be part of that ? and Fred, to clear one thing up, if we'd realised that staying in would mean ditching our friends then a lot of folk (me included) would've voted differently. It's over now, apart from the remainers who think in a straight count 48 is higher than 52 in percentage terms, things can be quite fraught at times, but hey, we're ok basically. we have just beaten the Aussies at rugby so all is well and Andy Murray has just won Wimbledon again, things are good indeed.
