I was very moved by it all.
As for the service itself, I thought it was handled very well. I think, however, formal gowns on the guests would have given the event a unified touch that would have added a note of grandeur that the occasion called for.
But in this climate of political correctness, the organizers, I think, had to draw a fine line between mandating something and "suggesting" something.
I was impressed by the King and Queen. They projected just the right touch: they appeared slightly overwhelmed and humble at the position they have found themselves in. Camilla, in particular, projected no sign of self-importance, but a natural warmth and humility.
The music was spectacular. Friends of mine commented that it was amazing to see young children singing such complex arrangements.
Finally, the British public seemed to demonstrate their approval of what they had seen. I assume screens were set up for the public's viewing. For that many people to stand in the rain for a glimpse of the King and Queen after it was all over said it all for me. After all, the day really was all about them. And the look on their faces show they were in a mood for celebrating.
One more thing. My suspicion is the reason tiaras were abandoned is because of political correctness. In this climate of wars, poverty, pandemics, I think the royals were told it would signal the wrong optics, i.e., the monarchy was indifferent to human suffering.
I screen capped during and after the Coronation. I know a number of people will have not liked the ceremony. To me it was perfect to the person who now wears the crown. It was a service of coronation and not a ceremony of coronation. It very much reflected the personality of the King. I didn't miss the glitter and bling. The Princess of Wales looked stunning as did The Queen. It was nice to the Queen's children and grandchildren front and centre as well.
6th Century bible was used for the Gospel Reading.
The screens instead of canopy worked wonderfully
Having his son help him during the investing was so touching.
