I would like to think it was " they" not "she" that wanted the style and title extended to their children from the time of birth. I wonder why they never chose to use Pr. Harry's subsidiary title ( Earl of Dumbarton by courtsey), or can that only be used in Scotland and cannot be a courtesy title ??
I think they both knew about the letters patent when she mentioned "George V or VI or something". I'm sure it had been explained. But she stuck with her "campaign" because the late Queen had acted specifically for the titles for all of the children of William and Catherine. She wanted the same for hers. but did not understand the different circumstances of the two families, or wanted to ignore that.
