In search of feedback to see if anyone else has encountered this:

My colleague and I have an asst band stipend for football/marching season but we’ve been informed by our HD that we have to teach lessons on Saturdays we don’t have scheduled contests/events that’s also allegedly part of our stipend (nothing is in writing on our contract). We already work many Saturdays but to basically be told we’re working every Saturday seems like way too much. Is there a way to push back on this or is receiving a stipend an automatic pass to require teachers to work every weekend?

I’m only on year 3 so any advice is appreciated.
