Mmmm not sure about D.Duarte hosting a big welcome banquet.

The Borbons always snubbed the Braganzas a little.

At D.Duarte's wedding, the representation was at its lowest rank - Infanta Margarita and her husband.

Nobody at any of the Princes christenings.

Nobody at Infanta D.Maria Francisca's wedding.

They liked to invite for their own events, showing how popular and admired they were, how many royals they managed to reunite, but they hardly reciprocated, at least at the highest level.

Besides, D.Duarte is not the most well-off among the royals, to say the least .
His budget "suffered" a little with his daughter's wedding and his own 80th birthday/25th anniversary parties.
So, let JC be the one who throws a party at his new residence and invites his portuguese friends
Let's see if D.Duarte will be invited.
