The fact that his health has deteriorated considerably made the king rethink where would he move to.
With his mobility severely reduced, he announced he no longer wants to live in Abu-Dhabi, where he feels very lonely (Is Fróilan still living with him ?) and far from everything and everybody in the case that something would happen.
The problem of course is Felipe and Letizia who do not want him in Spain at any cost and despite his health condition.
A condition that forces his daughters to travel constantly to Abu-Dhabi.
So, according to newspaper "El National", Portugal could be the perfect solution.
He would like to move to Cascais, a region he knows too well as it is where he lived with his parents during their exile, where he still has a lot of friends, and it is close enough of Spain, what favours his odd trips to his country.
The Cascais solution had been on the table before the king left to Abu-Dhabi and the local Mayor was very enthusiast with the idea.
