Where i personally detest the idea that cultural and historical objects are damaged i fear one reason might be the damage the Catholic church has allowed to happen to so many innocent victims of abuse by officials of the church while others turned a blind eye.
To me it does not excuse the current vandalism but it might be one of the triggers.

Let's just hope that Luis Alfonso and his circle leave it to the French authorities to name and prosecute the responsible party.
