I fear Harry will like his son soon be mister Mountbatten-Windsor.
That would poison the name for the line of William and Edward (the only other two male lines from the Duke of Edinburgh) so i would not be surprised if those lines will be Windsors sticking to the dynastic name of the Queen rather than mixing it with the name Philip took when he was naturalised even though that was in no way a requirement as he was a descendant of Sophia of the Palts.
I have always thought that "Oldcastle" sounds awkward and confected, unlike "Mountbatten". A better option would have been to have adopted "Oldenburg", itself, with the original spelling, pronouncing it as we pronounce "Edinburg", and even living the "en" silent - "Oldburg", to rhyme with Edinburg.
The problem we that Prince Charles now faces is that neither option represents agnatic descent.
