Dietz used the metallic blue paint 1952-1956 and the paint followed the lantern production to Hong Kong and the PRC except the Chinese lanterns were all the old style tooling and the only Streamline was the No.8 Air Pilot.
If your lantern has no patent numbers and production date stamped into the right tube, then it is 1954-1955. I doubt they made any 100's in 1956 because, by then, the large fount (with the Sunburst Bottom) was standard on the Little Wizard. The red painted globe is period to the 50's LW's and 100's and represents an economic savings and possible concession to meeting signal standards.
