The purpose of my post was to answer the question asked by DUH about whether the Tories' immigration numbers were higher than Labour's, which I did.
I didn't express an opinion either way that one party was better than the other, I simply did some maths based on available figures.
I take your point that the calculation changes, but to work it off the 12 years under the same calculation method, the average yearly net migration figure is 291,083 with the total being 3,493,000.
Whether that is spun positively or negatively by other posters is the decision of other posters.
