I fully understand that hate is sadly prevalent in all societies and that hate - racism, prejudice, discrimination, antagonism directed against someone of a different race or colour is based on the belief that one's own race is superior is rife.
Given the terrible recent events in the USA following the hate filled murder of George Floyd I understand why emotions are so high and why there are so many emotion filled demonstrations around the world.
What I genuinely don’t understand is how will racism be stopped, what is the plan, what has to happen to stop it, what does society and specifically all the demonstrators want to happen and how long do they expect it to take?
Being quite rightly angry sadly dosent resolve the issue.
I see demonstrators demanding action but I don’t know what action they actually want to be taken, is there a cure all to combat and eliminate a human trait which has been active in societies for centuries?
I remember Martin Luther King leading the 1955 Montgomery bus boycott in Alabama and then the big anti racism crusades of the 1960s but in 65 years it seems we are nearly back where we started.
It’s desperately sad and people are quite rightly desperate for things to change but I still don’t know how it can?
