I've worked in Operations across different parts of a fairly large American company for the past 7 years, and my partners works for the NHS.
When I hear stuff about the NHS, even up to this week with how they are organising deploying staff it completely baffles me how an organization that size is able to be allowed to operate so inefficiently. Probably up to Band 7/8 staff are just Nurses who have been promoted through the system and have no idea of a corporate world.
The NHS are no doubt to blame for some of this.
They are not deploying staff across Trusts for example. Even though we live 20 mins away from a hospital that is classed as Hampshire Trust, they would rather Nurses drove 45 minutes-1 hour to Oxford or Slough because it is classed as Berkshire than go to Basingstoke Hospital.
