They dragged their feet over the football and large gatherings. The Premier League and EFL had to take the lead. Theatres and cinemas remained open last weekend.
They've closed the schools, but allowed pubs, restaurants, cafe's, to remain open, but told people not to go.
By not forcing these businesses to close, they are leaving them in a state of limbo, unable to claim on insurance or receive any government support. Business owners forced to stay open to receive some income, but at a risk to their health.
The situation in Italy is gruesome and we're heading down that path very fast. The government is sending out such weak messages and making the situation much worse IMHO.
We are going about this much differently from the rest of the world. When the bodies start stacking up, I don't think the government are going to be judged very favourably
