Agree with a lot if that Mozzer, but "a free for all" is how Arsenal went from a team that had won nothing in 49 years to breaking multiple transfer fees and poaching Huddersfield's Manager by paying him 30 times the National Average Wage when many of his peers worked for expenses, dominating the domestic scene for a decade and laying the foundations for dozens of trophies.

Move forward 60 years and Arsenal were on their high horse claiming their way was the right way and telling Chelsea and City they had no class, no history, were buying the League. Same as it ever was.

United went 26 years without winning the League, then they floated in the stock exchange, pumped gazillions in and became the most decorated Club in England. Organic growth that according to many reds.

AC Milan had won one trophy in 19 years before Berlusconi arrived, soon after so did the world's most expensive players on the highest wages ever seen. League Titles and European dominance ensued. AC Milan are never mentioned in the Johnny Come Lately category, they have true European pedigree. Apparently

City, PSG, Red Bull et al aren't corrupting the game, they are simply following a traditional path to success and prestige.

Money has always been the deciding factor in the professional era (maybe even more so in the amateur days!) and we are, if Mr Stott is true to his word, and there seems little evidence to suggest he's not, we are about to embark on a spending spree the likes of which I cannot recall.

If the owner spends their money without putting the Club into significant debt, who is anyone to say they can't?

On your last point I agree entirely; City have the resources to bury UEFA in a legal battle.

Should the Abu Dhabi/Qatari/Chinese/American Owners choose to launch a Global Champions League and Guarantee the Clubs involved 3,4...10 times the money and exposure than the UEFA CL it would be very hard to resist for many of the top European Clubs many of whom are very unhappy with UEFA anyway. Quite a iron fist in the velvet glove of their Barristers...
