She suffered another bout of pancreatitis over the two years, sought medical care, and was treated for it. Then it happened again just when Covid came about and she dealt with it, believing it to be pancreatitis again, not going to the doctor/hospital because of the virus. This time the pain never went away, and when it got so bad she couldn't ignore it, she went in. Tests showed it was Stage 4 PC.
As for Mike, I would not put him in any home as his condition doesn't warrant it. He just needs help with medication. Facilities are hotbeds of the virus now, and many are not even accepting new patients. I would hire someone to help except 1) people you can hire here for $28 an hour are not allowed to give meds (whether through the county services or the agencies). The only ones allowed to give meds are registered nurses and meds are the only reason we would need someone. It is also not wise to have outsiders in the house due to the virus. This is not only risky for Mike and me, but especially for Stacey.
As for strength, if I were alone I could not do it. There are two others to help, and Bert to run errands, and they are stepping up.
One thing I will tell you, She is miserably sick. If she gets any worse symptoms I will ask if she needs to be hospitalized.
