Removing them is somewhat trickier … however Pss Patricia of Connaught got her wish granted when she married Alexander in 1919

Yes, interesting example but I'm also wondering if laws have changed in the intervening decades between GV and CIII that now make it a requirement for any LP - either granting or removing a title - must also have parliamentary approval? My line of reasoning is this: if the LP creating the York title required a parliamentary assent, then another LP now removing same title would also require similar assent? But that may yet happen in the days ahead...or the King may simply let it all rest with P. Andrew's statement with no further action taken on it.

In 1919 George V issued a Letters Patent declaring that his cousin Pss Patricia of Connaught would no longer be an HRH nor a Princess of the UKoGB&I… this was her choice as she was about to marry a commoner. I was also thinking what else can Pr Andrew do? It’s not like he can wear an in visibility cloak. The tabloid media will never leave him alone ( I am not speaking in his defence ) .

AFAIK, someone can indeed legally renounce an hereditary or noble title - e.g., ancient history but the late Anthony Wedgewood Benn renouncced his inherited title of Viscount Stansgate because it was barring him from sitting in the House of Commons. But that was a legal and formal renunciation, and in the case of Prince Andrew it seems to be somewhat murky - meaning, he's just not "actively" using it any more, unless more comes to light here about all of this.

Well I am sure that was negotiated so he can save the last bit of his face but it comes down to the same thing: He's out and should now move to a modest residence or people will continue to question his sense of propriety.

He’s not had his titles and honours removed , he’s choosing not to use them ( my understanding ) His daughters are still “ of York “ because he’s still technically the DoY… the UK tabloids will figure this out and start a campaign against the daughters …

Finally... Charles is taking decisive action. Andy's position was unattainable for some time now. Next step: moving out of Royal Lodge and off the Windsor Estate. Royal Lodge is now way above his satus as a disgraced royal. A modest apartment in Kensington Palace or a small country House will do now nicely now. Perhaps Highgrove? I don t think its used much now anyway...
Odd if his daughters remain ' of York'. Why not simply HRH Princess B or E of the United Kingdom?
Big news …
