Re: Foreign Titles
There are a few points that probably need to be made. IIRC, the 'Princess' simply assumed her title, to which she was not entitled by descent, since her father did not marry equally. Secondly, AFAIK, the only source for the rumour that she was "considered" as a bride for Prince Charles is the 'Princess', herself. I, certainly, have no recollection of her name being mentioned in this regard and no recollection of their socialising in any significant way. Thirdly, the 1932 warrant was intended, precisely, to end the use of foreign titles in the UK by British subjects (the anomalous position of the descendants of the Electress Sophia under the Sofia Naturalisation Act appears to have been overlooked, as it also was in determining how to facilitate Prince Philip's entry into the British Royal Family). Finally, the ancient House of Saxony need defer to one, nor need the House of Oldenburg that has succeeded it.
