Just adding that media often refer to present-day king and queen couples as monarchs. (Perhaps because both are "Your Majesty"?)
UK does not have a joint monarchy.
Only the king is monarch.
This is why I use the word Sovereign in many contexts on these boards.

I wondered something similar but thought it could not be. But there might be another surprise.
There seem to be many differences in this reign regarding the Queen Consort from previous reigns with a king and queen.
Could it be that the royal standard flew over BP becaue the King was there & over CH because the Queen was there?
