Re: Senator Markle
To add to your point, I'd say that one change in order would be another titles deprivation act - one which would encompass acts and behaviors by title holders that bring the monarchy into disrepute due to the "appearance of impropriety". By "impropriety", understood to mean personal behavior resulting in allegations and lawsuits which resulted in loss of honorary and other positions, and should also remove the title itself since that person is no longer a working royal. Also by "impropriety". understood to mean deliberate and intentional first-hand and prominent involvement in party politics not only in the UK but overseas. The first definition would take care of the York title, the second would take care of the Sussex title. For every historic incident, the monarchy has found a solution. If they could find an appropriate solution in 1917 for that titleholder with that deprivation act of the time then they can certainly craft a new act specifically designed for either type of "impropriety". Previous Message Monarchy is also highly debatable. If you want it to continue well into this century, things have to change. Not with small steps but with big leaps so it finally lands in the 21 century.
