The BBC article also states:
"But Prince Edward's former title of Earl of Wessex will now go to his son, the 15-year-old Viscount Severn."
So, does that change happen for the present Viscount Severn immediately - or at some point in the future? Is the BBC assuming something which has not been formally announced yet regarding the Wessex title?
He will use it as a courtesy title, just like the son of the Duke of Gloucester is Earl of Ulster and the son of the Duke of Kent is Earl of St. Andrews.
