Totally agree that this is a made up story. I don’t believe for a second that the King has been thinking about a future title for Charlotte . That would be for her father to decide a long time in the future . And why would he give her a title that was meant to go to her Great Uncle Edward ? That would take the shine off it and be awkward for Edward and his family . As for Charlotte being made Duchess of Edinburgh as a compliment to Elizabeth II- she was Duchess from 1947 to 1952 and I am sure very few people would associate her with that title . Today ( Sun ) I read in various UK papers and some international ones ( I can't even post a link because it annoys me so much )... the latest from " a reliable source " within the palace ... The King will grant the title of Duchess of Edinburgh to Pss Charlotte of Wales !!! Maybe it's true ...but really??? I would be very disappointed if the title did not go to his younger brother , Edward as we are all aware of what Her late Majesty wanted. I am hoping that Pss Charlotte , in the fullness of time will be created Princess Royal , once her father succeeds and the current holder is no longer with us ... of course most of the papers kinda missed this point , though some had a vague mention of it. It just astounds me ( and other posters here for sure ) how news can just be made up and published and people believe it ...there ...enough said !
