My impression is that King George VI got won over to his son-in-law much sooner than his wife: Queen Elizabeth never warmed to him; at best, she simply tolerated and accepted him.
So it seems that Mountbatten got along with his father-in-law; and I would imagine that he would also have gotten along with his grandmother-in-law.
Plus Philip was under Mountbatten's wing and he was not Q.Elizabeth QM favourite flavour.
