This senator should have looked into the matter and realised that his idea was absurd.
I forgot to mention in the last line of the Sen. Cotton story it says, "for more click here." If you click on that there is an interesting paragraph about China's efforts regarding Greenland. All of these activities had to be known to the Danish government, that's why it's hard to explain their "outrage" regarding Trump's interest.
Another perspective on this topic. It appears it was Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas who brought up the idea to the Danish Ambassador before Trump got involved. This was in 2018, I think. Surely, the Ambassador submitted a report to the Danish Officials. Which means, it was rather disingenuous of the current Prime Minister to act shocked that such a proposal about Greenland would be discussed

Just thought you might want to read Trump's thoughts on the matter. If you scroll down, you will see some remarks from Denmark's prime minister.

Chequer - I can assure you there was no intention to offend the Queen. From what I've read about Trump, he absolutely likes royalty and loves meeting with them. I doubt that the Queen was offended. She has been on the throne long enough to have seen and heard it all. The Prime Minister owes her an apology. It was her job as a top official/diplomst to assure that everything went off smoothly and she failed her sovereign. But, if I may, if the Queen did take offense, I have no problem offering an apology.
Mildred, by his conduct Trump has insulted the Queen of Denmark. Unforgivable.
