I was a radioman onboard also in 68. I agree with the two stops. Once when we got there and once to drop off the helo. We tried to crane it over to a carrier but our superstructure was too tall and almost hit the flight deck. I think we went to anchor both times we were there. Regret, I don't remember who went ashore. I seem to remember for some reason, we were SOPA.
