I glad you brought that up, I meant to ask about this.
The other day I was looking at the No. 2 Blizzard in "Lanterns that lit our World" and there are two photos of the No. 2.
First photo (drawing) shows the shouldered bail and dates the lantern 1912 - 1945.
The second photo shows the streamlined version, STRAIGHT bail and dated 1939 - 1960s.
My two lanterns are ('43 & '44) are streamlined and have the shouldered bail. That sorta confused me looking at the photos.
Now when you stated "After the war they went back to the straight bail only without the peened ends." .... did you mean "Shouldered" instead of "straight" ?
