His grandparents lived in their palace, as did his parents and his brother Christian with his wife Alexandrine. Uncle Waldemar and aunt Marie were in the Yellow Palace but what about the other princes and princesses? Was Bernstorff Palace the Danish equivalent to the aunt's heap at Kensington Palace in London? Carl, Maud and Alexander did live in Denmark. They had an apartment in one of the four palaces that make up the Amalienborg complex.
