Impasse on Planning Application for EP

I wouldn’t trust the MEN to get anything right but the lack of progress on ground development is a concern. The club have gone very quiet. The vacuum in comms will only lead to speculation and some of it wild.

Once again we look as there's no progress!why would you buy a house near a football ground,and not put up with inconvenience 30 times a year,move on if can't!

I bought my first house three streets away from Edgeley Park in 1992. I knew the ground was there. I knew there would be thousands of people knocking about the streets and pubs on a Friday night or Saturday afternoon. The council introduced a parking scheme which wasn't the best but it was ok.

My house was also a couple of doors away from a chippy. I couldn't do anything about the chip wrappers in my front yard.

A new stadium a la Bolton would be fine for me. Location is the key but I am not a sentimentalist and providing the front of the Bergara stand was built into it i would take it all day over a ground which when developed would still contain the out of place Cheadle End and a 1930's remnant.

I we plan to reach the Championship then gradually slide back down then stay where we are, If MS sees County as a major force in years to come then go large. IMHO

Brisbane will, as some will know, host the 2032 Olympics. 3 years after getting the event they have just decided the Gabba- which has had billions spent on underground rail access, is too unsuitable for redevelopment so will be demolished and a 63000 seat stadium will be built north of the river at Victoria Park on an old golf course now public park. The protests have already started.

As part of a redevelopment of the Vernon Mill area, it would be a fantastic location - walkable from the town centre and railway station, v handy for the motorway.

They could look at Penny Fields also. Woodbank Park would be left field but would also work.

However, I am still convinced we should stay where we are. That was the commitment from the owner and I doubt any of that has changed.

That article may well prompt the club to at least put a statement out there - it will certainly need a response.

I just can’t see that at this stage of our continuing evolution that - even with Mr Stotts net worth - a new stadium; the ground development will surely be as we move forward into the Championship with increased revenue.

The club needs to let us know what’s going on.

The RE and the popside need replacing asap . It would be embarrassing to be in the Championship with our current ground.

We have one stand of championship standard the rest belong in non league.

There can’t be many grounds in the League which has had so little spent on it in the last 30 years as Edgeley Park. It is nowhere near Championship standard and struggles for League One too.

Don’t get me wrong I love EP it is my place of worship but it needs the development now.

I know a couple of young lads who have been to EP this season. They support Liverpool and Man U but barely go. They sat in the RE and the Popside . They said the football was good but the stands were terrible. These are potential fans for life if the experience had been better.
