wouldn't say is your traditional centre forward I always regard Centre Forward as the bigger battering ram types that a striker will play off, Striker more focus on goals and CF on all round play and as a focal point
Barry plays mainly as a split striker with Tanto designed to allow him to pull central defensive partnership apart and create space for central midfielders to run beyond the frontline and get him isolated against them in 1 v 1 situations that he excels at, DC talks about when ball in wide positions having 4-5 men in the box by dragging defenders out and allowing us to commit runners forward into said space it allows us more margin for when ball enters the box
Barry also likes drop deep and into inside left positions where defenders don't know whether to jump and leave their defensive line to follow him or hold but if they hold it allows space for him to run at defenders and do what seen many times use that low centre of gravity get round back of teams or shift onto his right side to get a shot off
Basically he has freedom to cause havoc and no clearly defined role, but is trusted to have the intelligence and ability to cause different problems to defenders within a game
Hence why he was our point of difference, we had nobody else like him and a man of such precocious talent is rare at L2 level so it was no wonder we looked a cut above the rest when he was in full flow!
