    My advice is the obvious one.

    Dump yourself in situations where you’ve no option but to try and understand and communicate - markets (ban yourself from pointing and using fingers) and all those situations. Stop people from talking to you in English. Everyone, no matter who, has to speak in Spanish and do as a Spaniard would at home for everything from 9am until 5pm.

    At the end of the day, if you HAD TO learn it, you would do. Recreate the have to.

    When you’ve done that, do it again and again... I’m sure you understand.

    Also, play out emergency situations in your head. What would you say??

    On short, English speakers are lazy, generally, too many people try our language, give yourself no choice but to speak.

    Or, give up. Chill out. Have the right attitude (as you clearly do) and I reckon you’ll pick it up eventually.
