
PV panels ideally run at 25 degrees. There's a de-rating factor for every degree above that temperature. In Australia they are always above 25 degrees (except at night when they are sat idle). The MPPTs don't run at 100%. The inverters don't run at 100%. The batteries need to run air con constantly to keep at the optimum temperature (parasitic load). You'd need twice as many panels to keep up with losses. A hole in the ground twice as big as ideal, twice as much diesel burnt.
If you think you're saving the planet by driving an EV you're kidding yourself. You're only easing your conscience.
