Here are more pretty rare photos that some fans may have never seen. Ok, Mr. Holmes- who is the woman Jim is hugging in this photo from the cover of "The Intimate Jim Reeves" LP? This is a tough one, but if anyone could solve this mystery, I believe you could. I know the photo of Jim on the set of "Kimberley Jim" appears on the back cover of Larry's book, but did anyone ever notice that the slate Jim is holding has the title of the movie as "Strike It Rich"? Must of been the working title before it was changed...

A lot of great pictures you have shared with us Mike..Thank you.
After a bit of research (and a tip of the old Holmes deerstalker cap) I did find an answer (well kind of sort of) who the woman is on the cover of "The Intimate Jim Reeves".
The woman shown on the cover is an unnamed model hired by RCA Victor, for the studio shoot. Apparently in the 50/60's it was standard practice to use professional models for album imagery. They would never use a spouse back then, but never explained why.
This photo for me has a good point but an odd one as well. Jim's left eye (looks a bit puffy to me) and looks like he was in a dust up at the local tavern the night before. For that reason, I can't imagine this being approved. Just seems a bit odd, but that's me. But then the world famous watch (with clear white face) and ring are shown. And I noted the strap (brown) matches his casual jacket. Jim was known to switch watch straps to colour match what he was wearing. This is a glowing example.
The photo of Jim and Mary by the golf cart standing is interesting. It is of course not the very last photo because the famous last one had Jim in the pink button down shirt with matching shorts. I believe there is a white 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Seville in the back ground, and I seem to think they drove there to the course in that car. But this is from memory, I may need to be corrected on this one. Jim bought this car in May, 1960 following the success of "He'll Have To Go". By the way, this golf cart was restored and is on display at the "Heart of Texas Country Music Museum.
Anyway, Mike some treasures there for sure and thanks again.

Another post proving Roy is the best. Just a few questions and observations.
The studio shot is one of 4 used in the Bear 16 CD Boxed Set. I never really liked any of the photos in the set at all. Jim is wearing some Nero Like jacket the looks a little too Oriental for me. Like Roy, I wouldn't have approved any of them.
I always thought it might have been shot overseas for the Bear set. No facts just impression.
Maybe my senses are getting weak but I did not immediately recognize the woman by the golf cart as Mary. Roy sharpens my investigative senses here.
Also, I thought the Cadillac Eldorado Seville was blue in color factory ordered. Being a collector of scale models I have looked for a kit of the specific make and model but it does not exist in common scale plastic models. Is the car on the right in the background?
The Beechcraft Debonair does not exist is scale plastic models either.
Maybe it has been stated before and I forgot, but I was not aware of the importance of the watch with alternate bands. What is the make if you know?
Lastly, do you know more about the puffy eye and and "dust up" or are you just surmising?
