My second marriage was a whole other thing, Bob and I and the Mexican official who married us in his study with only his wife present. We traveled Mexico for three weeks, sometimes staying in luxury hotels, other times sleeping on the beach. Sometimes eating in fancy restaurants (and getting the turista anyway), and other times opening cans of sardines and cooling our drinks in the car air-conditioning. The picture of Bob with the headband was taken then.
But I like to think of when and how we pledged ourselves to each other in front of the children. Like a Scottish wedding common in the olden days, no official needed and no less true for all time.
