Re: The Prince and Princess of Wales
I would like to share my experience when I heard the news...I was fortunate enough to be in the congregation at St Paul's Cathedral last night ...it was due to start at 6pm. HM addressed that nation at the same time and just before the service began his speech was broadcast ( audio only ) throughout the cathedral. Wow! To hear him speak of his Scottish titles passing to William, then the Duchy of Cornwall and then the big news...Prince of Wales ...it was a thumbs up ( literally ) from me!...on a side note and slightly off topic ....the title Queen Consort...what do readers/posters think? I don't mind saying : I don't like it. I understand what a consort is, I have read the message from The late Queen in Feb a few times now, it still sits uneasy with me. If history was different and The King was still married to his first wife would her title be Queen Consort ...I think not. Queen Camilla was never known as Princess of Wales , now she's Queen Consort...not Queen...her husband's grandmother, great grandmother etc were always The Queen......will the new Princess of Wales be Queen Consort when William succeeds? ...I wonder ( I repeat I do know the wife of The King is his consort)...and on another note...Karen... I will come to EDI on Mon for the resting in State ,if you would like to queue with me I would be very happy! Previous Message
