Spring must've arrived, because I spotted my first dreaded red lily beetles. Time to begin treating all my bulbous lilies, and Fritillaria, or else no blooms:

I planted a "Pennsylvania state flower", the Mountain Laurel, Kalmia latifolia, in my garden. This one's cultivar is 'Keepsake'. Mountain Laurel is a hardy BLE (broad-leaved evergreen):

The Redneck Rhody, Daphniphyllum macropodium, is a subtropical BLE. Here is a pic of one growing in my garden:

Back in February, while the weather was still "winter-cold", I planted this Granny Smith apple. It was a dormant, bareroot plant, that looked like a stick with roots. Check it out! Buds are breaking, and it is beginning to grow (It is planted close to my Redneck Rhody). Anybody else ever plant a bareroot, dormant tree or shrub?

A blooming CROWN IMPERIAL, sounds like an old-school Chrysler car. Cowbell-shaped flowers, topped or "crowned" with a rosette of leaves:

Two different types of MAGNOLIA are blooming at the same time. One is 'Jane', and the other is a Star/stellata. Jane in front, and the Star one, is in back of it:
