I already had a smaller, one-stemmed Kalmia, that I accidentally stepped on, and snapped, while I was putting on the big tarp I cover several plants, in early winter. I have so many plants, in a small space, LOL.
So, this Kalmia is a replacement. Kalmias can be difficult to transplant, too (slow-growers, as well), so I have my fingers crossed, that this one takes, like the smaller one.
Crown Imperials (the orange flower) can be sorta hard to find, in local nurseries. They would be in the section, where spring-flowering Dutch bulbs (usually, in fall), like tulips and daffodils, are located. I got mine through mail order. They are usually sold 1 bulb per bag, because they are somewhat large (not as large as Colocasia elephant ear bulbs, though). Crown Imperial bulbs have an unusual scent, that is supposed to ward off moles, in areas where these critters are found.
I have a yellowed-flowered Magnolia, as well. Its cultivar is 'Sunspire'. It will be blooming within a week, or two.
