Here are some RAMBUTTAN, Nephelium lappaceum, plants I germinated, from seeds I received from the Big Island of Hawaii. As you can see, one seedling is growing faster than the others, and has already grown taller than its florescent light fixture. Rambuttan seedling growth is unusual, in that, although not a legume, like peas, seed leaves remain BELOW SOIL LEVEL. First leaves form on the tips of bare stems. incidentally, rambuttan fruits are similar to those of lychee, and longan, except Rambuttan fruits are covered with wiry, "hair"....
