Interesting thing, Will, but my Ponciris trees (I have 2) had their regular bloom flush, but then proceeded to produce very few fruit. I'm talking a VERY low number. I can't even count 5 in my older of the two trees, and there are years where I've gotten 40 (at least) from it.
There was no weather incident after the bloom. And there was no fruit drop. So, I really don't know what's going on. I sometimes think that fruit trees are on their own secret cycle that has little to do with weather. Sometimes, they'll bear a lot of fruit and sometimes they won't.
I've seen this in my fig tree as well some years.
