Off topic: Mexican feather grass/Texas needle grass

I have a hillside on my property that runs parallel to the west you my hours. It is probably around 100 feet long. About 60 feet of it are steeper than I want to push or ride a mower on. So I have been contemplating a mass planting of something to cover the steeper parts of the hill. I have considered planting it with sabal minors. ( I have hundreds of seedlings) Those will grow slowly though, and I would have to weed it and keep it from being overrun with bermuda grass in the meantime. I have acres of forest and a long driveway that could use some sabal decorations anyway.
I have seen mass plantings of ornamental grasses and I have usually liked them. I have seen what I believe to be Mexican feather grass pretty commonly used here. I like the look. I know it can be invasive in places like California, but I haven't heard of it being a problem here.
Do any of you have any experience with this grass? Any comments or recommendations? Thanks.
