They did research something that was supposed to be of Henri IV but it probably wasn't his as not only the male line DNA did not match but also the female line DNA did not match with known DNA from some of his maternal relatives.
As for the Spanish line, it's probably something someone will do at some point but im guessing that we only will hear of it if the results show that Alfonso XII was the son of Isabel II's king-consort and his father was the son of Carlos IV. Previous Message

All it proves is that due to male line DNA testing we know that Louis XIV and his brother Philippe duke of Orleans had the same biological father. T hat was most likely their legal father Louis XIII but could have been a lover of the Queen as well.
So now I'm confused. Are you saying that their DNA wasn't actually compared to that of Louis XIII, that their genetic line has just been assumed and that there is still no actual proof of lineage? I wonder why could they not have compared their DNA with a sample from the recently discovered mummified head of Henri IV, the Bourbon progenitor? Previous Message
Im wondering if someone from the Spanish line did also check his DNA to that of the three tested men. It could disprove claims that Queen Maria Luisa and Queen Isabel II had sons from lovers.
Interesting thought. Why not indeed, unless maybe some people are just too nervous to find out?
