All it proves is that due to male line DNA testing we know that Louis XIV and his brother Philippe duke of Orleans had the same biological father. That was most likely their legal father Louis XIII but could have been a lover of the Queen as well.
So now I'm confused. Are you saying that their DNA wasn't actually compared to that of Louis XIII, that their genetic line has just been assumed and that there is still no actual proof of lineage? I wonder why could they not have compared their DNA with a sample from the recently discovered mummified head of Henri IV, the Bourbon progenitor?
Im wondering if someone from the Spanish line did also check his DNA to that of the three tested men. It could disprove claims that Queen Maria Luisa and Queen Isabel II had sons from lovers.
Interesting thought. Why not indeed, unless maybe some people are just too nervous to find out?
