Can anybody provide me with a list of popes who were under the age of 18, when elected? This post is related to the one on the ERMB about boy kings.
The reason for my asking is that while it has always been a requirement for a new pope to be elected BY the sacred college of cardinals, it hasn't always been a requirement that the said pope be FROM it. But of course, most persons elected to the papacy have indeed been former cardinals ...
Anyhow, I was focusing on the exceptions -- specifically, underaged persons. I once asked a friend whether it would have been possible to elect a BOY as pope. He said "sure, it's been done" (he thinks the youngest pontiff was only 15 years old).
