Well, they were lucky to eventually get some outside blood from Princess Victoria Eugenie ("Ena") of Battenberg and Princess Sofia of Greece and Denmark. Unfortunately, the former also introduced tainted blood (i.e. the hemophilic gene), which came from her royal (not morganaut) ancestry ...
That being said, the dynasty has survived, and the present king is married to a common-born wife whose royal ancestry is remote, to say the least.
